We’ve decided to get in on the action and compile a list of, well, lists. Here are various lists of the best and brightest cameras of 2009. It should make bargain hunting a bit easier, right?

* The folks over at dphotojournal have compiled a list of their favorite digital cameras of 2009. The top spot goes to the Canon Mark II, featured above. But don’t worry, there are many other quality digicams nipping at it’s heels. 2009 was a great year for digital cameras.

* The venerable London Times newspaper has written an article chronicling the highest reviewed compact cameras for the year. It features write ups on old favorites like the Nikon Coolpix to a host of new kids on the block, ready to take quality photos without taking up a lot of room.

* The Scientist magazine has unveiled it’s list of the top innovations in science for 2009. Why is this relevent? Well the buzzworthy Photometrics Evolve imaging camera made the cut.
