Facebook And Twitter Status Updates Are Not Completely Useless
As we all know there are a lot of people who get irritated by other peoples rants on Facebook and Twitter. Despite their vehement response to other peoples comments, no one is forcing them to read it. But it is serving its purpose.

The purpose of social networks are to promote socializing. While Billy might not care that you got a new puppy, Maggie might be inclined to start a conversation with you. While yes, somethings are overkill, but it is better to participate then to be inactive. Especially since you joined a social network for such reasons.
So for all the people out there updating their life play by play, keep it up but maybe filter somethings out. For those angry overseers, get over it and go with the flow.
